Looking for bridal shower ideas can be fun whether you are throwing the shower for your sister or best friend! This is a time when all the special ladies in the bride's life get together to celebrate her upcoming nuptials.
The wedding itself is like a huge party celebrating the love between the bride and the groom. The bridal shower is like another excuse to celebrate this major life transition - but it's all about the bride! Then there is the bachelorette bash - which is a whole other party all together!
It doesn't have to be like that stuffy, uncomfortable shower of the olden days where you are afraid to open your presents fearing they are naughty. With every rip of the wrapping paper, you can feel your nana's eyes on you, sending you into a blushing frenzy. Nowadays, there are ways for the girls to let their hair down a little and have a some fun - while still not offending grandma!
Your bridal shower can be anything you want it to be. It all depends on the bride's style because that is who you are celebrating.
If the bride is a super laid-back casual kind of girl, keep it casual. Think along the lines of a ladies' brunch with waffles piled high and endless mimosas.
If you have a really classy bride-to-be, maybe a day at the spa would be the ticket. Who doesn't love all day pampering and adoration?
Since this can get kind of pricy, you can agree beforehand that all the ladies would cover their own spa services. Then split the bride's bill amongst you girls. That would be classy.
If all day pampering is too "spendy", stick to just manicures or pedicures!
Or for the traditional gal, throw a traditional wedding shower. Make it like a tea party with finger sandwiches and wine spritzers. I have been to lovely showers like these at fancy hotel rooms or people's houses - it works anywhere comfortable!
What ever you choose to do, remember to keep it about the bride. There is a lot of work and sometimes stress that comes with planning a wedding. Her lady entourage (that's you!) is there to help her stay calm and remember she is loved.
