The honeymoon night can be just as big a deal as the wedding day - it can be exhilarating and nerve wracking all at the same time, depending on what your situation is.
The honeymoon can take just as much planning as the wedding itself; especially if you are trying to stay with in budget. If you are planning for some wedding travel during your honeymoon, there is a lot you can do to save money. Find more information on this here. Fortunately, it all starts with the honeymoon night. Exciting!
First things first: pack your wedding night bag: Toothbrush? Check. Jammies? Check. Clean undies? Check.
Alright. Now the wedding night can come with a lot of anticipation for some. If you are in a delicate position where this will be a first time for something very special, you are not alone. Trust me, it is not an outdated notion. You're in good company. And if you are looking for some advice, Meg Keene from APracticalWedding.com has a great article on this topic.
For our honeymoon night, we were exhausted! Absolutely wiped out! Our friend, who works as a receptionist at a local hotel, gifted us with a one night stay in an executive suite just so we didn't have to go back to our tiny studio apartment.
So needless to say, once we checked in to our hotel, there wasn't much of anything happening that would make anyone blush! Unless you count limping down to the nearest bar (that was the only place open serving food).
We spent what little energy we had left laying in bed, eating chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks, reading all the cards from everyone. We just attempted to process all the magical magnificence that happened that day. What a rush! I can say, though, there was a LOT of giggling.
So whatever you choose to do with your wedding night, whether you are RVing around the Olympic Peninsula or romancing it in Italy and Croatia, just remember, it is YOUR wedding night. You can go home and put your feet up together with a glass of wine talking about the day or go streaking through the streets yelling "Just Married!" if you want to. Your call.
Bask in the glory that is your wedding night!
